What we build

New Construction Services

RD Fast Construction Inc. is a California Class B general building contractor, the license class for building new homes. We've been licensed since 2023, and owner Rafael Diaz has more than 10 years in construction.

Ground-up homes

New single-family homes built from your approved plans, starting with site work and foundation and ending at the final inspection.

Teardown & rebuild

Demolition of the existing structure, then a new home on the same lot. We plan the demolition permit and the required surveys into the schedule.

New home + ADU

Planning an ADU along with the main house so the utilities, layout and permits are coordinated from the start.

Built from your plans

Working with an architect? We review the plan set and give you an itemized price before you commit.

Early budget review

Bring us drawings early and we'll flag the scope items that move the budget, before the plans go out to bid.

Permits & inspections

We coordinate with your city's building department and schedule the inspections at each stage of the work.

How a new build moves

From an Empty Lot to Move-In

Before construction: the lot has to be checked first: zoning, setbacks, height limits, utilities, easements and soil conditions. Then come design and engineering, and plan check with your city's building department (LADBS inside the City of Los Angeles, or each Orange County city's own department). Fire department review and HOA approval are also common.

During construction: site work and foundation, then framing, roofing, windows, rough plumbing, electrical and mechanical, insulation, drywall, and finishes. The building inspector signs off at each stage before the next one is covered up.

Every lot and plan set is different, so we give you a schedule and a written estimate for your project instead of a one-size-fits-all number. Read more in our guide to building in LA and Orange County.

FAQ

New Construction Questions

Do you build new homes from the ground up?

Yes. RD Fast Construction Inc. holds a California Class B General Building Contractor license (#1105076), which covers new home construction. We build ground-up single-family homes and teardown-and-rebuild projects in Los Angeles County and Orange County.

Do I need plans before I contact you?

No. If you already have an architect's plans, we can review them and give you an itemized price. If you're still at the idea stage, tell us about your lot and goals, and we'll explain what the design, engineering and permit steps will look like.

How long does it take to build a new home?

It depends on the size and complexity of the house, the lot, and how long plan check and any outside reviews take. Plan check is often a large share of the overall timeline. We give you a schedule for your specific project with the written estimate.

Who issues the permits?

Inside the City of Los Angeles it is LADBS. Other LA County cities and every Orange County city have their own building departments, and unincorporated areas go through the county. See Los Angeles and Orange County.

Can I add an ADU at the same time?

Often, yes. Planning an ADU along with a new home lets the utilities, layout and permits be coordinated from the start. California law also addresses ADU applications submitted together with a new home.

Are you a licensed contractor?

Yes. RD Fast Construction Inc. holds California Class B General Building Contractor license #1105076, licensed since 2023. You can look it up on the CSLB website.

How do I get an estimate?

Call or text (213) 842-1229 or send the form on this page. We set up a walk-through, review your plans or ideas, and give you a written, itemized estimate. The estimate is free.
